For starters the features are endless on the Garmin Zumo 550. The Zumo is power-driven by a 20-channel, SiRFstar lll high-sensitivity GPS receiver and all maps of North America are preloaded.

At the main menu, you are offered with two large and clearly marked options to begin navigation. Where to? and View map as well as a number of items along the bottom of the screen, including a phone icon, a musical note icon for the MP3 player, and a tool icon for the Settings menu. Touch any one of these icons (which works well with a glove hand) with easy left handed controls, takes you to a group of submenus for that function.

In addition another great thing that bikers would adore about this device is that the satellite antenna is actually internal. So no need to worry about extensive wiring for the satellite. There is only one wire to connect the motorcycle mount to the battery.

This unit also features Garmin Lock an advanced anti-theft feature that disables the unit from performing any of it’s functions until you type in a four-digit PIN. Also include is a fuel gage to notify you when its time to fill up.

Zumo isn’t just for your motorcycles, it does include a car mount that comes with a speaker/microphone so you can hear warnings, directions, phone calls and music.

The Roady2 features the smallest satellite-radio antenna available, together with a built-in wireless FM transmitter for easy setup and reception in any vehicle. Just tune your car’s radio to any of the unit’s 12 FM frequencies. It is so easy to take from home to car so that you only need one unit for both. You can tune it to a channel in the bedroom, but can listen to a radio on the other side of the house, or any room in the house, the FM transmitter is that good. You have a choice of several FM frequencies, and not like those FM transmitters you tune with a screwdriver, this one is digitally PL locked to the frequency you select via the on screen menu, and it will not fade off frequency. The Roady2 makes great improvements including mounting options and turning on automatically with the car, and little things like different screen colors. XM radio is great; this is a great XM Radio device.

Very pleased with this unit.The antenna is incorporated into the design of the unit. The screen is bright and simple to see in sunlight. This unit along with other garmin units, has as simple learning curve when it comes to figuring out it’s numerous options and settings. It has given correct gas prices and for the most part has been very accurate to traffic updates. The Garmin-Nuvi-760 is very worthwhile of it’s price. On the road the device has been very precise and has an option to offer a great amount of details as you pan out on the screen to maintain maximum amount of data with area streets etc. The interface in general is very simple - the go to interface has 6 million points of interest. It has great setting features. One being able to select from “automobile”, “bicycle”, or “pedestrian” mode - very useful.
It’s simulated GPS run through of a route. It takes you through a route as if you were driving it.It’s just an unbelievable piece of hardware.
